Afua is a curatorial researcher and a cultural producer. She has worked on providing provenance research on the Asante collections held at the Wallace Collection. She will be doing further research on some of the Asante collections at the British Museum. Afua was also a Young Producer at the William Morris Gallery organising events for young people to gain insight into the creative industry.

Before becoming a curatorial researcher, Afua was a tour guide at the Wallace Collection, educating the public on various art pieces displayed at the collection. Afua was also a Wallace Youth member. In that role, she organised events for young people to increase access to the museum space. Afua currently sits as a trustee for Young Music Makers music school and on the advisory board of the UK Government Art Collection as an independent youth member of the Committee.

Afua is passionate about encouraging and inspiring positive outcomes amongst young people and especially those in the African diaspora community. She wrote a report titled “How to Create a Comprehensive Inventory of Collections & Artefacts of Ghanaian Origin Abroad” as part of the Presidential Committee’s report Ghana’s Museums and Cultural Heritage: A New Chapter in 2020 and is excited to continue that work by creating inventory framework for the GRIP project.
